Growing up in Costa Rica exposed Francisco to the Latin rhythms at a very impressionable age. The son of a dance teacher, Francisco quickly saw the benefits of being a good dancer. It was at this discovery that he decided to take his passion to the competitive dance floor and won many accolades in the sport of latin dancing. After several years of traveling, Francisco decided to dedicate his passion of dance to the world of teaching. Francisco enjoys the art of teaching and watching dancers transform before his very own eyes. The art of making the beginner dancer feel comfortable is one of Francisco’s main talents. His patience paired with his knowledge make him a very desirable teacher in Sarasota. In 2008, Francisco opened Beyond Dancing; his vision of making a fun place to learn to dance was born. Francisco is a certified dance teacher and his dance studio is a member of the GDA, a worldwide alliance of dance schools.
Originally from Miami, FL Rachel has been a part of the Beyond Dancing team since its inception. Her love of dance and performing originated as a young child in the ballet world. The contagious latin rhythms quickly changed Rachel’s course of direction from the ballet bars to the ballroom floor. After actively pursuing her teaching certificate, Rachel moved to Sarasota to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. Teaching remains Rachel’s passion and she thoroughly enjoys helping the beginner students find their rhythm on the dance floor and her ability to breakdown elements for the beginner student makes her stand out from the rest. Teaching has always been a joy of Rachel’s, but she also has a thirst for knowledge which guides her dedication and drive to always learn more about the art of movement in ballroom dancing.
From ballet to ballroom and everything in between Amber has done it all. It all started on the stage where she has always felt most comfortable. The lights and energy of stage performance turned her on to the drama of ballroom dancing. Training from New York City Broadway stars to the local legends of Florida have been the experience of a life time. Accompanying her dance history with a passion for dance and a love for people teaching felt second nature to her. Being able to watch marriages reignite on the dance floor and for young and old alike to enjoy the social and competitive sides of ballroom, has been a real privilege. Seeing all that dance has to offer for the healing process of mental, emotional, and physical disabilities is just one of the magical treats of teaching. She hopes to spark and inspire individual from all walks of life to the joys that dance can bring.
